An old submission which I couldn't help but repost. :)
As a Child I used to gaze at the sky and wonder if there was a
BIG, LONG wall
somewhere OUT there saying
THIS IS IT!
Now that I'm all grown,
I still WONDER, if there's an end to it all
Comments appreciated. :)

very cute!
ReplyDeleteSomehow we need that wall, uh? We just can not imagine an endless space.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute and lovely illustration. I would buy a book with this illo for my kids straight away.

Eternity and Endlessness are such difficult concepts for the human mind to grasp, no matter what our age. You illustrated it so well.
ReplyDeletehaha very nice:)
ReplyDeleteyes the thought of neverending-ness of space just beats me and a wall, however whimsical an idea that is, should be there :)
ReplyDelete"But Eternity has been set in our hearts..."
The drawing made me chuckle. :) This blog is amazing Canato! I'm going to have to read it from the beginning.
ReplyDeleteYou should put up your artwork on deviantart :) please please please ^__^
ReplyDeleteI am not good at commenting pictures, but I find it sweet and funny. :)
ReplyDeleteAn interesting idea, everything ends somewhere?
ReplyDeleteGreat illustration!
I think this is so funny and sweet and cute. Clever, too!! It's SO well done.
ReplyDeleteHa! Totally taps into a huge fear of mine I had as a kid. Wonderfully captured. I love your little girl characters below as well. Very unique look.
ReplyDeleteWonderful style!
ReplyDeleteI like your illustration, but I don't like the wall. A neverending universe is perhaps to big to imagine, but somehow when I look at the sky I never think of a wall. A thing without boundaries is mysterious and scary, that's why I need walls too, but I like them here and not there. :)
ReplyDeletemy wall, if at all there was one, would add another element of mystery considering it's size and length and width... and more, what would be beyond the wall? empty space yet again?? :D
ReplyDeleteand thanks all for the likes, the comments and the shared perplexity of our space :)
yes, it certainly would make it easier to comprehend the universe if it were finite in a masonry kind of way...
ReplyDelete...but the size of that wall, yeah, a mystery begets a mystery...
his expression is spot on.
Excellent idea for boundaries and very nicely rendered! I too wonder what is behind it! Thanks for passing by my blog!
ReplyDeleteThis is delightful! The expression on the space-kid's face is great and the concept of a boundary to space is very interesting :)
ReplyDeleteI have always pondered about this too. Great concept and well executed.
ReplyDeleteHaha! I love this! I always feel that space is a big vast forever, how weird to have that concept completely thrown out by a convenient brick wall.
ReplyDeleteHaha, I used to wonder the same thing! A wall, or maybe just white space. But wouldn't there have to be stuff on the other side of the wall, and wouldn't the white space just be more space? Aaaah, too crazy. Great idea for the topic! Really cute, too. I love the vibrant colors and the alien on his tiny planet.
